Instructions

  1. Peel and chop the turnip into cubes. Dice the onion. Slice the scallions on the diagonal.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the bacon strips until almost crispy.
  3. Remove bacon from skillet and set aside. Leave the bacon grease in the pan.
  4. Add the turnips and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure equal browning on all sides.
  5. Add the butter and the diced onion. Cook for a few more minutes until onion is soft. add the butter and the turnip cubes.
  6. Add the bacon back into the skillet and cook until crispy. Break up the bacon into small pieces.
  7. Add the spices and cook 1-2 more minutes.
  8. Remove from heat and garnish with scallions.
