They said reversing metabolic disease wasn’t possible.
They were wrong.

Ten diagnoses. One root cause.

Obesity. Diabetes. Fatty liver. Heart disease. They look different on paper, but they share the same root: a broken metabolism. Until we treat the root, we’ll never truly heal the tree.

Sick Roots

When your metabolism falters, blood sugar swings, weight gain, energy crashes, and chronic conditions follow. Your body’s systems stop working together, and the cracks start to show.

How Disease Spreads

An unhealthy metabolism doesn’t stay contained. It branches out into high blood pressure, kidney disease, heart problems, and more. Each symptom looks unique, but they all grow from the same soil.

Reversal begins
at the root

Healing starts where the damage began. When you feed your body real food, not a new prescription, the roots begin to repair. And once the roots heal, everything above the surface changes too.

Signs of Renewal

As balance returns, energy rises. Blood sugar steadies. Medications taper off. The tree fills out again: stronger, steadier, alive.

Reversing the
Damage

This is what reversal looks like. Fewer prescriptions. More energy. More life. Health you can measure and feel.

A Brighter Day

Reversal is more than physical health. It's about getting back what you thought was gone. Playing with your kids. Traveling again. Feeling like yourself.

Data and Methodology

Every number in this report is backed by real results drawn from Virta’s extensive body of clinical research and real-world outcomes.

Our data come from peer-reviewed clinical trials conducted over varying study periods, Virta’s longitudinal program datasets spanning the past decade, and de-identified, aggregated real-world results from our active book of business and from a data clearinghouse.

Weight-loss outcomes represent average results among members who began Virta with a BMI ≥ 30. A1C reduction outcomes reflect high-risk type 2 diabetes members who started with a baseline A1C ≥ 9%, evaluated at one year unless otherwise noted.

Each analysis is independently reviewed and validated by Virta’s data science and research teams to ensure methodological accuracy and consistency with findings. Together, these data tell a clear, consistent story: reversal works, at scale.
