- 2 pounds ground beef
- ¾ cup pork rinds (crumbled)
- ⅓ medium onion (finely chopped)
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
- ¼ teaspoon salt and pepper (or to taste)
- 2 tablespoons oil (Virta-friendly for pan-frying)
- sugar-free ketchup
- 2½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ tablespoon oyster sauce
- ½ teaspoon monkfruit/erythritol sweetener

Sometimes you want to mix up your normal hambruger routine with a low carb alternative. Enter our hambagu recipe, a japanese hamburger steak. Thankfully, with our easy low carb hambagu, you can enjoy the scrumptious taste of new dish all while maintaining your low-carb lifestyle! After you make this uncomplicated recipe for low carb hambagu from just a few ingredients, you’ll always want more.
Instructions
- Microwave chopped onion in a bowl for 50-60 seconds to help soften it.
- Combine all of the ingredients (except for oil and optional sauce ingredients) in a large mixing bowl, and knead with your hands to combine the mixture well.
- Form the meat mixture into 8 evenly-sized hamburger patties (~4 oz each patty).
- Preheat oil over medium-high heat in a frying pan. Cook patties until browned on both sides and cooked through (internal temperature >145F).
- Enjoy by itself, or serve with optional sauce (simply whisk sauce ingredients - sugar-free ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, oyster sauce, and monk fruit/erythritol - together in a small bowl) and/or an optional side dish (like Japanese cucumber salad or cauliflower rice)!
