- 1 cup Dashi
- 8 oz shirataki noodles
- ½ cup cabbage (finely shredded)
- ½ pound beef chuck (or ribeye) thinly sliced)
- ½ inch ginger (grated)
- 3 garlic cloves (grated)
- 1 stalk green onion (thinly chopped)
- 1 tablespoon Ponzu sauce
- ⅛ teaspoon salt

After you make this uncomplicated recipe for shabu shabu with a few ingredients, you’ll be hooked.
Instructions
- Make 1 cup of Dashi and leave on simmer.
- Meanwhile, prepare shirataki noodles by straining out the prepacked liquid and soaking the noodles in cold water. Set aside in a bowl.
- Slice beef into ½ inch wide strips and set aside.
- Bring Dashi to a boil and add a dash of salt. Once boiling, add shirataki noodles (drained) and cabbage, and cook for about 1-2 minutes.
- Next, add sliced beef into Dashi. Cook for about 30-45 seconds for medium-rare beef, or for 2 minutes if you prefer more well-cooked beef.
- Put noodles and beef in a bowl for serving.
- In a separate bowl, combine 3 tbsp of Dashi soup with 1 tbsp of Ponzu, mix in grated ginger and garlic and pour over noodles and beef. Top with chopped green onions. Enjoy hot/warm!
