Virta co-founders Dr. Stephen Phinney and Dr. Jeff Volek worked with The Ohio State University’s Food Innovation Center to convene a group of esteemed scientists and researchers to discuss recent progress in the science of low carbohydrate nutrition. The conference was hosted by the OSU Food Innovation Center and the video recordings were sponsored by Virta Health. OSU and Virta have decided to make these videos free and available to the public.

Dr. Sarah Hallberg gave an insightful presentation on type 2 diabetes reversal. A physician and exercise physiologist, Dr. Hallberg is the Medical Director at Virta Health, the founder and Medical Director of Indiana University Arnett's Medically Supervised Weight Loss Program, and an adjunct clinical assistant professor of medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Sarah Hallberg is also the executive director of The Nutrition Coalition, a nonprofit organization advocates for science-based national nutrition policy.

Dr. Hallberg is also a public speaker, and her TEDx Talk, "Reversing Type 2 diabetes starts with ignoring the guidelines" has been viewed over 4 million times.
