Theresa Link, RD

Lead Dietitian

Theresa Link is a Lead Registered Dietitian Nutritionist at Virta and passionate advocate for metabolic health, leading conversations that challenge the status quo, spark curiosity, and inspire lasting change. Theresa empowers individuals and clinicians to move beyond managing metabolic disease and instead focus on reversing it through science-backed, personalized nutrition and sustainable lifestyle strategies.

Theresa also writes the Ask Theresa advice column, providing practical guidance from her own experiences with a touch of whimsy. Whether readers feel stuck in a food rut, face tricky social situations, or are trying to make sense of emerging research, Theresa offers clear, relatable insights to help them make confident choices that support metabolic health.

Before joining Virta in 2015, Theresa worked as a clinical dietitian and diabetes educator. However, she found it increasingly difficult to gain support from peers reluctant to question the prevailing low-fat, high-carbohydrate approach. She was later recruited to Virta for her expertise in ketogenic nutrition, a foundation of the company’s approach to reversing metabolic disease, and has since helped advance its clinical model while supporting patients in achieving meaningful health improvements.

Theresa loves hot yoga, creating new recipes, early 2000’s hip hop, and karaoke. She lives in Omaha, Nebraska with her husband and daughter.
