Divya Bhat is the Chief Product Officer of at Virta Health, where she leads the creation of both patient and provider platforms to help deliver type 2 diabetes reversal at scale.
A serial entrepreneur and product leader, Divya has spent her career building and scaling products from the ground up. Prior to joining Virta, Divya spent five years in the same-day/on-demand delivery space, first as the founder and CEO of Y-Combinator backed Rickshaw (acquired by DoorDash), and then as one of DoorDash’s Directors of Product. This experience provided essential background in creating products that have multiple user surfaces and a significant on-the-ground component, similar to Virta’s products for patients, providers and coaches that are central to Virta’s continuous remote care platform.
Divya spent her early career building consumer products such as the Expedia Hotels product, Jamglue (an online music community, YC ‘06), and Trulia Rentals. At Trulia she was a founding member of the rentals team and grew its revenue to $10 million per year in the 18 month span preceding Trulia’s IPO.
Divya holds bachelors degrees in Math and Computer Science & Management Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and received her MS in Genomics at the University of Washington. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and two children, who provide a steady stream of healthcare-related puns to drive morale (or eye rolls) at Virta. They spend most of their weekends in the mountains—camping in the summers and skiing in the winters.
