Can type 2 diabetes be reversed?

Yes. The aim of diabetes reversal is to lower blood sugar to normal levels through nutrition, while reducing and even eliminating the need for medications, including insulin. As our patients' health improves, Virta doctors safely eliminate medications. Virta patients have the continued support of their clinical team to make results last.

Virta's approach is science- and evidence-based. Our research is cited in the American Diabetes Association's Standards in Medical Care for Diabetes, with specific reference to achieving blood sugar control while eliminating the need for diabetes medications.

Do I have to pay anything for Virta?

No. When Virta is a fully covered benefit by your employer, you pay nothing. There are no co-pays. From the supplies to the expert medical care and health coaching, you get it all at no cost to you.

What do I get when I enroll for diabetes reversal?

Patients enrolled in Virta's type 2 diabetes reversal offering receive all the supplies they need to be successful, including a connected scale, glucose and ketone meter and strips, and access to all of Virta's resources through an easy to use smartphone application.

Virta patients are also assigned a dedicated care team who guides patients on their journey to better health.

Do I need a referral from my doctor to start Virta?

No referral is needed. Your Virta medical provider will become your diabetes reversal specialist and will communicate with your local medical team as needed to ensure continuity of care.

Virta is available to health plan members ages 18+ who are enrolled in an eligible plan. This program is currently being offered to those withtype 2 diabetes. There are some medical conditions that would exclude patients from the Virta treatment. Start the application process nowto find out if you qualify. Virta is a separate company and is solely responsible for the services provided above.
