Skip the waiting room! Virta puts an online clinic in your pocket so that it's there when you need it. Get care anywhere, anytime.
Daily medical supervision.
Your Virta Provider takes over your diabetes care. But they won't replace your primary care provider. Instead, they work with them to coordinate your care.
Most patients are used to getting their diabetes care in just a few visits each year. On Virta, you get daily medical supervision from our physician-led team. Through the Virta app, your provider will keep you safe and adjust your medications in real time.
One-on-one health coaching.
Your Virta Health Coach is your guide to better health. They will help you change your diet and other health habits in a way that works for you. Your coach will be there to support and encourage you, every step of the way.
Most patients are used to only seeing their health coach once a month. Through the Virta app, you can message your coach whenever you need help.
All the supplies you need.
All diabetes testing supplies, like glucose strips, lancets, swabs, and a meter, are included. You also get tools to understand your ability to burn fat, including blood ketone strips and a connected scale.
Virta is all-inclusive, meaning you pay nothing for the supplies. Everything is shipped right to your door, free of charge.
Private patient community.
Through the Virta app, you can access our private patient community. In the community, patients share tips, like their favorite recipes. You can discuss your experience on Virta in a moderated, safe, and private place. Participation is optional, but most patients choose to join for the extra support!
How does Virta approach nutrition?
Virta uses food as medicine. We’ll help you adapt your body to burn fat for energy, instead of sugar. This is called ketosis. Ketosis naturally lowers weight, blood sugar, and the need for diabetes medication. To get into ketosis, you’ll adjust your diet to eat more fat, eat less carbs, and get the right amount of protein for your body.

No frozen meals or replacement shakes. - Works for any dietary preference or allergy.
Virta doesn’t require specific foods, so it can work for anyone. You can be vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free, etc. - No calorie restriction or fasting.
Eat until you feel satisfied. Stop counting calories. - No required exercise.
While exercise has health benefits, it is not required on Virta.

Eligibility
Virta is available to members and eligible dependents between the ages of 18 and 79 who are enrolled in the health plan. This benefit is currently being offered to those with type 2 diabetes. There are some medical conditions that would exclude patients from the diabetes reversal program. Start the application process now to find out if you qualify. Participation in the program is not a guarantee that the member’s diabetes will be reversed and that it requires active participation/adherence by the member.
